Nexus Of Fashion

Nexus Of Fashion is a brand new fashion company based in Munich, Germany. The idea behind the brand is to connect talents on a global scale with one another in order to get ahead in the industry. The main focus is to become a platform that people can turn to if they need advice, information, guidance, motivation or resources of any kind.

The Periodic Table

With this project, I had to redesign the Periodic Table in an innovative manner, without losing the basic structure. My main focus was to visualize the density of each group by changing up the colors and shapes of each element. By ignoring the numeral aspect of the table, I tried to create a visual roster that allowed the viewer to understand the flow and basic structure in the blink of an eye.


My master project: Trending

As a graphic designer I’m confronted with ever-changing styles on a daily basis, this either by pure coincidence or by actively looking for new perspectives. There’s always one constant: we are stimulated and moved by external influences, everyday we are exposed to trends. As the subject is very large and can be looked at from many different angles, I decided I would focus on the general perception and interpretation of trends. I discovered that as an outsider, it was difficult to overview the evolution of a trend. Being something that repeats itself should also be visually recognizable. I asked myself the question: ‘How can I, as a graphic designer, showcase a trend chronologic and compact?’ In other words I wanted to create a system where viewers can discover trends on their own and distinguish them in one look.

I researched the covers of the American Vogue magazine which was good in quality and quantity. Being only one page, I could get a great overview on how they evolved throughout time. I analysed them on typography, color, positioning, contrast, masthead, type of cover and content. The next step was to find a system to showcase some parameters. I decided to focus on the evolution of some specific colors from the cover : background and most notable color. Another parameter I wanted to include was the type of cover, whether they use illustrations or photography. The viewer has to find the right angle to perceive the information. This to emphasize the critical aspect of the topic. We first notice them when they are already qualified or recognized as a trend. In a way it’s the same with the installation: you have to look throughout the space to get a glimpse of the evolution. 

Playtype

This assignment was about designing a building and concept book that would showcase the general feeling and basic idea of a store/company named Playtype. Not only do they sell fonts but the building includes work offices as well as creative art studios. The main idea in creating this building was the use of stairs to link the several parts of the company. This element I chose to showcase in my concept  book by not only by showing images but also by incorporating stair elements in the general lay out.

100% Feminine

With this project we got the opportunity to design our own magazine concerning a subject that we found personally interesting. I chose to showcase powerful women and publish articles concerning the struggle some of us have to go through to reach our goals. This project was really fulfilling, not only could I investigate a subject that is dear to me but I also had full creative control about the look and feel of the magazine.

Neville Brody

This book is a result of an assignment where we had to design a publication explaining and showcasing a typographer's body of work. I chose the highly experimental Neville Brody. In this book I show his journey throughout his life and work, as well as his most iconic fonts. I conclude with sharing his influence on magazines such as The Face and so on.
